Jazz Series
Central Park Place is home to a series of jazz concerts, performed seasonally. With our partners, the Lakeshore Big Band and the Truth in Jazz Orchestra, we aim to make these concerts as accessible to the public as possible, with admission costs between $5-$10 for most performances. We’re proud to offer drinks and refreshments from Kenzie’s Be Cafe, a nonprofit beverage service, at each concert as well.
Lakeshore Big Band
The Lakeshore Big Band has been entertaining audiences throughout West Michigan since 1990, developing into one of the area’s finest concert and dance ensembles. Based in Spring Lake, MI, the LBB is a full-size, 17-piece traditional big band. The band performs from a large library of tunes dating from the early days of jazz to present day. Truth in Jazz Orchestra
Fronted by West Michigan’s legendary drummer Tim Froncek, this group of 16 of the area’s top musicians play charts from the classic era of the big bands, up to today’s best charts from the hottest writers. The band was organized in 2003 by a group of musicians who wanted to play pro-level big band literature – and have fun doing it!
