Jim is a retired local businessman who lends his expertise and community connections to the operation of the board. He is married and also serves as Sergeant at Arms for the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post #28. He enjoys retirement, spending time with family, and having the time to pursue other activities he enjoys.

R. Doug Van Oss

Finance Committee Chair

Doug is a retired real estate developer who enjoys serving his community by building a strong nonprofit infrastructure that creates longevity and organizational success. He loves music and enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as his rooftop view overlooking the Washington Ave. stadium and channel. He is one of the founders of the Praise by the Pier music series at Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium.

Angela Sorenson

Marketing Committee Chair

Angela is a marketing professional who enjoys using her talents and skills in the evaluation and promotion of the newly named Central Park Place. She is one of our newer board members and brings a unique perspective to the vision we have set forth. Her knowledge and insight in the marketing world will help us to achieve our goal of becoming a destination location while promoting arts activities. She is married and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Martha Alexander

Arts Committee Chair

Martha is our newest board member and recently retired GHAPS art teacher. Her understanding of the arts and the need for after-school and summer programming for youth are what drew us to her as a board member. As a newly retired individual, she hopes to pursue her own artistic endeavors while helping us get our arts programming off the ground.
