The Top Three Benefits of a Sunday Wedding

Who doesn’t love a good mimosa? Or a Bloody Mary stacked high with celery, olives, and cheese? We bet not many! Having fun with your cocktail list is just one of the many benefits of considering a Sunday wedding. Besides being a budget-friendly alternative, Sunday weddings also typically offer maximum venue and vendor flexibility, and let’s face it: they are just more relaxing to plan. In our latest blog, we explore the top three benefits of Sunday ceremonies and receptions and why the last day of the weekend should be more than an afterthought.

Budget Friendly

Sunday weddings are your budget’s best friend. Many venues, caterers, and vendors offer discounted rates when you book a Sunday rather than a Friday or Saturday since Sundays are often considered “off-days” in the industry. You can make the day your own by choosing to have a brunch reception or an early afternoon ceremony, which can additionally lower your cost! But it doesn’t stop there. If you have friends and family flying in, they can typically book relatively cheaper flights on Saturdays.

Additional Availability

Another advantage to celebrating on Sunday is the increased availability of venues and vendors. If you’re struggling to book vendors or find a place, having a Sunday wedding can solve your problem. Since that day of the week is not a standard wedding choice, you will have better luck securing vendor service. Considering a brunch wedding or a ceremony early in the day will also open up more flexibility for catering options.

A Whole Weekend of Celebration

Deciding to have your wedding on Sunday means you get the whole weekend to prepare. Friday and Saturday will be a pre-extension to your big day! This allows for more flexibility with your guests’ arrival if they travel from out of town and more time to address last-minute arrangements. Starting the celebration on Friday night provides the wedding party (and you) more time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. The days leading up to your wedding should be full of good times and memories; choosing a Sunday wedding will just add to all the memories you could make!

Make it Your Own

It’s your day, so choose what makes the most sense for you! Sunday weddings are a great way to switch things up and try something new. Have a brunch reception with Bloody Marys and mimosas or opt for a relaxing afternoon wedding with a cocktail and appetizer reception! There are endless ideas to make the day unique and a true reflection of your relationship.

At Central Park Place, we offer a variety of wedding rental options and are accepting Sunday bookings for June of 2026. With years of experience assisting couples in planning everything from booking to rehearsal dinners and ceremonies, we are equipped to help. Contact us to learn more today!
